Like the group of lovers caught in bittersweet relationships in the title story, the characters in this collection are all trying to find their way, whether it is to escape the hold of the past, understand the complexities of adult emotion, or face up to the shocking disjunction between dream and reality. ![]() ![]() Long-listed for the Edge Hill Short Story Award 2016 ![]() ![]() She freezes it’s an image of a book she hasn’t seen in more than sixty years-a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. ![]() Inspired by an astonishing true story from World War II, a young woman with a talent for forgery helps hundreds of Jewish children flee the Nazis in this “sweeping and magnificent” (Fiona Davis, bestselling author of The Lions of Fifth Avenue) historical novel from the #1 international bestselling author of The Winemaker’s Wife.Įva Traube Abrams, a semi-retired librarian in Florida, is shelving books when her eyes lock on a photograph in the New York Times. “A fascinating, heartrending page-turner that, like the real-life forgers who inspired the novel, should never be forgotten.” -Kristina McMorris, New York Times bestselling author of Sold on a Monday ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One wrong slip, and we're homeless. It doesn't take us long to adjust to our new home with all its eccentric people, and Aiden is happy here, but danger lurks right across the street. If you don't mind raw honesty, darker than dark history and intensity (including lots of intense sex), plus you enjoy a different type of romance to the usual white Knight and flowers, then this will knock your socks off! I love dark romances and even darker characters with an erotic touch so when I started to listen to this series I was hooked! I've recently started downloading more from this author and I have to say that I have put them in my list of favourites! So I would be advising any "none-snowflakes" to have a listen. I have gone through every book in this series like a lost person in the desert would go through bottles of water! The start is kinda dark, the sex is raw and well explained, with lots of "scary" hurdles and antics along the way and ending with a beautiful HEA! I REALLY DESPERATELY WANT MORE!!! I love that this book goes back to following the original characters because they veered off for a while to their friends and family. ![]() |
